Before graduating from the Fashion Design Department of Shih Chien University, Dou won “The forth best new comer fashion designer of R.O.C”. He then went to Europe for advanced training and to gain competitive edge. After graduation, he worked for CARSON HUANG ZONE INC. as a designer of ANADA. He represented Taiwan at “The French international young designers’ competition”. In 1994, he took part in the “Taipei fashion week” with IHWA Co. In the following year, Dou joined “The Beijing fashion exhibition” and presented the first collection with his partner Changlee in Idée.
In 1997, he presented his first independent show in Eslite. Dou also participated in “TENCEL VS. CHINESE DESIGNER” and “The retrospective show of the best new comer fashion designer”. He was invited by “POWER HOUSE MUSEUM” to join “EVOLUTION AND REVOLUTION IN CHINESE DRESS 1700s TO 1990s- EXHIBITION”. In 1998, Dou was invited by HKTDC to take part in HONG KONG FASHION WEEK- ASIA PACIFIC FASHION DESIGNER’S SHOW. He was also awarded the TOP TEN BEST DRESSED CELEBRITIES by Vogue in 2000 and attended “The straits famous designers fair” in China, 2001.
Changlee graduated from the Fashion Design Department of Shih Chien University in 1990. She won the bronze for “The fifth best new comer fashion designer of R.O.C”. She represented Taiwan at “The French international young designers’ competition” in 1992. Changlee was selected to join “1993 WORLD FASHION TRADE FAIR- ASIAN NEW DESIGNERS” in Osaka, Japan. In 1994, she took part in the “Taipei fashion week” with DE LICACY Co. In the following year, Changlee joined “The Beijing fashion exhibition” and presented the first collection with her partner Dou in Idée. She was again awarded the bronze by the “1995 Asian designers’ competition” in Jakarta, Indonesia.
In 1996, Changlee took part in “Taipei fashion week” and successfully presented her first independent fashion show with Dou in the year following. In 1998, she was invited by Taiwan Textile Federation to join the “Taipei in style- designers’ exhibition” in Paris.
